Graham was born in the UK, immigrated to New Zealand in his late teens, and then immigrated again to Australia in 2006.
Graham has always been into computers ever since he got his first Commodore 64 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_64). His first job was at his local supermarket, and his first step in his IT career began in NZ, where he designed financial programs. He has been in the IT industry ever since.
When Graham and I met, he had a singular hobby – playing computer games. If he isn’t at work on a computer, he is at home “working on the computer” (keeping everything in perfect working order and up to date) or playing computer games. Everything is based around computers – luckily, he is particularly good at it.
Neither Graham nor I could ever imagine that he would become an artist in his spare time.
The thought that he wanted to join me in a new hobby was exciting. I honestly thought it would be lucky if he lasted a term, and then he would give up. Little did we know that he would love it and excel at it.
Graham is an “all-or-nothing” kind of guy. Once he was hooked, we HAD to buy a wheel and amazing tools, and then a pugmill and a kiln. Graham’s passion has led to us having a full studio setup at home.
Graham’s love for pottery has opened other hidden talents as well. With the help of the School of YouTube, Graham is now a dab hand at welding and is a maker of things.
Graham is living proof of hidden talents!
